Feel-Good Foods To Fight Stress

Those that know me would probably describe me as being highly strung, driven, a workaholic, anxious, creative and always on move.  I guess it's just been part of my nature from when I was growing up, I even remember asking my aunt to knit me a jumper with the words 'JUST RELAX' on the front. When I feel like I’m working myself to the ground, my immune system weakens, energy levels plummet and my digestive health just doesn’t function properly. Spoonfuls of creamy nut butter blended into a lush Chocolate Smoothie Bowl, or generously spread on a slice of freshly baked banana bread, are just some of the ways I adore using this lovely staple comfort food.  Nut butters can be used as a topping, a binding ingredient for cakes and the yummiest protein balls the list is endless. Mum would also make the yummiest Parmesan laced béchamel that she would generously spoon over steamed cauliflower florets, then bake until golden with crispy edges, for the ultimate cauliflower cheese. These days I’m still in love with cauliflower. I am constantly trying to create new and interesting ways I can enjoy this...

Supercharge Your Immune System Naturally

Food is one of the most powerful tools we have to help prevent disease and a healthy body begins with a healthy immune system.  It maintains homeostasis by defending against viruses and bacteria which can cause inflammation in the body, illness and disease. Our body also produces antibodies that can help destroy the virus and assist our body to heal. Nutritional deficiencies can impair immune function, increasing both the risk and severity of infection. Vitamin C, for example, acts like your personal bodyguard, helping to protect cells and assist in healing. There are also studies of the use of vitamin C in facilitating faster recovery of the common cold. It’s pretty much...
