
Post-Workout Protein Smoothie


What's great about it
Also referred to as my 'Stress Buster Smoothie', I love to create this antioxidant rich smoothie made with berries and other superfood ingredients, as they help support my adrenals and stabilise my energy levels. Stress can keep cortisol levels in the blood elevated for longer, which in turn can affect metabolism, suppress thyroid function and increase abdominal fat.
Blueberries are a great source of potassium that helps to regulate muscle contraction and fluid balance. The rich colour from blueberries comes from anthocyanins, antioxidants which help to neutralise free radicals. Protein will aid in recovery, support your immune system and help stabilise hormones, which is great in times of stress.
Ingredients
Serves 1
150 g (1 cup) blueberries, frozen or fresh
1 small ripe banana
1/2 cup almond milk or your choice of milk
1/2 cup coconut water
2 tablespoons Healthy Chef Pure Native WPI
1 tablespoon Healthy Chef Organic Superfood
Method
COMBINE all the ingredients into a high performance blender.
BLEND until extra smooth + creamy.
