When the weather gets a little colder outside, I love porridge for breakfast.... it's warm, nourishing and satisfying. This porridge is featured in my cookbook Purely Delicious, as well as my Healthy Recipe App. This apple and cinnamon scented porridge tastes just like apple strudel and is filled with the goodness of seasonal apples, protein-rich almonds and omega-3 rich golden flaxseed.
Apple adds sweetness, high in pectin fibre that helps keep you fuller for longer as well as a mineral called boron that helps strengthen your bones and keep you alert. LSA can help reduce cholesterol and fight diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels because of it’s high fiber and high omega 3 content. It's also a good source of protein your body needs for recovery. A touch of cinnamon can help stabilise blood sugar levels.
