Matcha Tea is the champion of green tea, it’s a powerful, green tonic to revitalise the body and mind. Matcha is particularly rich in Catechins, a powerful flavonoid shown to have antioxidant and heart protective properties. It also contains high levels of L-theanine, an amino acid which helps to reduce stress and anxiety.

Our Matcha Tea is now sourced from Japan's Uji region, known as the 'birthplace' of Matcha Tea. It contains premium ceremonial grade matcha, with leaves plucked from the first flush for optimal quality and freshness.

Matcha Tea does contain caffeine however it’s about half that of a regular cup of black coffee.

There is a fundamental difference with regards to how matcha caffeine impacts the body. The caffeine in matcha is assimilated and absorbed very slowly (over 6-8 hours), a huge difference from the quick 30-minute energy spike with coffee caffeine. This results in a long and sustained energy boost. There is also no blood sugar spike, insulin increase, or release of the stress hormone, cortisol, as with caffeine from coffee.

Our matcha packaging has changed from a tin to a ziplock double foil-lined pouch. This transition to this packaging type was made to preserve the freshness and colour, and minimise oxidation of our matcha tea for a longer period of time. Plus, it also ensures the packaging is more airtight and protected from light and moisture, compared to our previous metal tins. 

The 120-strand hand-made bamboo whisk is uniquely designed to create the perfect matcha tea beverage. Its fine bristles help blend the delicate matcha powder into water or milk, creating a smooth, frothy consistency that's difficult to achieve with regular kitchen whisks.
