Beauty Boosting Smoothie
What's great about it
This is one of my favourite smoothies of the moment - My skin saving anti-ageing smoothie that takes 1 minute to prepare. It contains a blend of berries, salad greens, superfoods, protein and essential healthy fats to nourish and maintain healthy skin and make it glow. Home made almond milk is high in vitamin E, an antioxidant that can help fight off free radicals for healthy skin as well as a healthy immune system. Goji Berries have high anti-oxidant activities and are believed to slow down the ageing process. Cos lettuce (Romain lettuce) is rich in vitamin A, that revitalises skin by increasing cell turnover.

Notes and Inspiration
Hibiscus tea is a delicious antioxidant packed addition to this smoothie, perfect as a replacement for the milk or coconut water. Its is rich in vitamin C and has astringent properties for the skin. Brew it the night before and keep it in the fridge so it's lovely and chilled.
Add 1/2 cup of fresh pineapple (when in season) to aid protein digestion and use filtered water in place of coconut water if doing so.
The added bonus of making your own almond milk is that you can also use the leftover pulp to make almond milk face and body scrub. Just combine 1 cup of almond pulp with 1/2 cup cold pressed almond or macadamia nut oil + 1 tablespoon raw honey + 1 tablespoon fine ground sea salt.
