Detox Green Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect to flush out all toxins and boost your body PH levels. After just one glass, I promise you'll be a green smoothie convert for life! Slimming, purifying, alkalizing, detoxifying...this smoothie has it all. Smoothies are more substantial than juices, so I often make them as a complete meal to start my day. This recipe makes enough for 2 serves and I normally save a little as an afternoon snack or enjoy the next day for breakfast.
2 handfuls green organic baby spinach, washed
6 baby cos lettuce leaves, washed
2 medium sized oranges, peeled
Juice from 1/2 lemon
2 - 3 cups of water, depending on how you want your consistency
1/2 teaspoon Organic Wheatgrass
1 cup of ice
- COMBINE spinach, cos lettuce, oranges, lemon, water and wheatgrass.
- ADD ice if you want a cool refreshing smoothie.
- BLEND for about 15 seconds until smooth.
- POUR into 1 - 2 large glasses and enjoy.
- LEFTOVERS can be kept in the fridge for the next day or to enjoy as a healthy snack.
Notes and Inspiration
Add 1/4 avocado to boost healthy fats and nutrient absorption.
Use 1 cup fresh pineapple in place of the orange.
