Looking for a dessert that’s as refreshing as it is indulgent? This Matcha Affogato brings together the rich umami sweetness of Healthy Chef Matcha Tea with the creamy delight of vanilla ice cream for a treat that’s both revitalising and satisfying.

The premium quality of our Matcha Tea shines through in its vibrant green colour and smooth, full-bodied taste, making every spoonful a perfect balance of earthy depth and delicate sweetness. Finished with a hint of fresh mint, this affogato is more than just a dessert - it’s a moment of pure, uplifting indulgence.

INGREDIENTS

Serves 1

1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon Healthy Chef Matcha Tea

freshly boiled water

1 - 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, your choice

few sprigs of fresh mint, to garnish, optional

METHOD

CREATE a matcha shot by firstly sifting Matcha Tea into a small bowl.

POUR a bit of freshly boiled water into the bowl. Ensure your hot water has cooled slightly to 70°C / 158°F.

WHISK the Matcha Tea and boiled water together until smooth. Ideally, use a Matcha Whisk to do this.

SCOOP vanilla ice cream into a serving bowl or glass.

POUR matcha shot over the ice cream.

GARNISH with fresh mint and enjoy.

NOTES & INSPIRATION

For a stronger matcha shot, feel free to use up to 1 teaspoon of Matcha Tea powder.

If you'd like to add your own sweetener whilst making the matcha shot, feel free to do so. We'd suggest honey, maple or monkfruit.
