INGREDIENTS

Wholefood Flour Mix (86%) (Potato Starch, Sweet Rice Flour, Tapioca Flour, Brown Rice Flour, Oat Flour (14%) (Barley, Wheat), Sorghum Flour, Psyllium Husk), Brown Sugar, Baking Powder (450, 500), Sea Salt, Natural Flavour

Contains: Barley, Gluten, Oats, Wheat
May Contain: Lupin, Rye
HOW TO ENJOY

TO MAKE YOU WILL NEED:

1 egg

2/3 cup of milk*

2 tsp of melted butter or lightly flavoured oil


ALTERNATIVE OPTION:

1 ripe banana

1/2 cup of plant-based milk*

2 tsp of lightly flavoured oil (plus extra for cooking)


DIRECTIONS:

Shake the tub before opening to loosen the mix, now just add wet ingredients to the tub and stir well until combined. Pour the batter on to a medium to hot, greased frypan to your desired size, cook both sides for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!

*Add more milk to the mixture if you prefer a thinner pancake.

Our Wholefood Flour Mix (86%) is made from potato starch, sweet rice flour, tapioca flour, brown rice flour, oat flour, sorghum flour and psyllium husk, combined with brown sugar, baking powder, sea salt and natural flavour. We use Aussie oats and keep the ingredient list clean and simple - no artificial additives.

Does the Original pancake mix contain allergens?

Yes. It contains gluten and wheat (from the oat flour blend), and may contain lupin and rye. If you have a gluten or wheat allergy or intolerance, this product isn't suitable for you.

Where is the Original pancake mix made, and what makes the quality different?

Mt. Elephant products are crafted and owned in Australia, made with at least 38% Australian ingredients, and packed here too. The oats used in this mix are sourced from Australian wholefoods, and the tub itself is fully recyclable - kind on you and kind on the planet.

How many pancakes does one tub make, and how do I prepare it?

One 230g tub makes 8 pancakes (4 servings). You only need 3 extra ingredients — 1 egg, ⅔ cup milk, and 2 tsp melted butter or oil (or go plant-based with 1 ripe banana, plant milk and oil instead). Just shake the tub, stir in your wet ingredients, and cook on a greased pan for 1–2 minutes per side. Ready in 5 minutes.

Is the Original pancake mix suitable for dairy-free, egg-free or vegan diets?

The dry mix itself contains no dairy or egg — but the classic recipe on-pack calls for 1 egg and milk.
For a fully plant-based version, simply swap in our alternative option: 1 ripe banana, plant-based milk, and lightly flavoured oil in place of the egg and dairy milk.
Note the mix does contain gluten and wheat, so it's not suitable for gluten-free diets.
