Gut Loving Probiotic Lassi

 

This recipe is from the 'Liquid Nourishment' chapter of my cookbook, SIMPLE HEALTHY RECIPES

This is a nourishing Ayurvedic style of smoothie rich in antioxidants, protein, probiotics and anti-inflammatory nutrients to help nourish the digestive system and boost immunity. Papaya is also rich vitamins A and C as well as the digestive enzyme, papain, which helps to digest protein.

INGREDIENTS

Serves 2

1/2 small papaya, cut into chunks
squeeze of lime juice
1 teaspoon raw or Manuka honey
1 tablespoon Healthy Chef Grass Fed Collagen (or Marine Collagen)
1/2 teaspoon Healthy Chef Turmeric Latte
125 ml (1/2 cup/4 fl oz) natural yoghurt
125 ml (1/2 cup/4 fl oz) cold filtered water or coconut water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
handful of ice, to blend

EMBELLISHMENTS
1 tablespoon bee pollen

METHOD

COMBINE all ingredients in a blender.
BLEND until smooth and creamy, adding more water if needed.
POUR into a serving glass and garnish with bee pollen.
DRINK and enjoy.

NOTES & INSPIRATION

We suggest embellishing with bee pollen as just a spoonful boosts minerals, vitamins and energy boosting carbohydrates.
