By Teresa Cutter
What's great about it
A probiotic-rich smoothie to nourish the gastrointestinal system, boost your immune system and support total wellbeing.
WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT IT?
Probiotics: This smoothie is made from probiotic-rich natural yoghurt to help aid digestion, support the immune system and assist with nutrient absorption. Probiotics are also involved in the synthesis of important nutrients such as vitamin K and short-chain fatty acids. The word ‘probiotic’ actually means ‘pro-life’ so, where possible, choose the foods that are life-giving to your health.
Protein: Protein is your number one choice to build, repair, and maintain healthy, lean muscle, support your immune system, and support weight management. All Healthy Chef Proteins are designed for the most sensitive digestive systems and are free from sugar, fillers, gluten, lactose and added fillers, designed to be easy-to-digest and gentle on the digestive system.
Digestive Enzymes: Papaya is a rich source of beta-carotene to support healthy eyes, skin and immune system health. It's also rich in the digestive enzyme papain which helps with protein digestion. Papaya is also high in fibre, which studies show is effective for constipation to help promote regularity.
Turmeric: Curcumin, the antioxidant that gives turmeric its golden hue, has potent anti-bacterial, gastrointestinal health properties. Turmeric is rich in zinc, B group vitamins and iron, which can help support your immune system and a healthy metabolism. Healthy Chef Turmeric Latte is a soothing blend of high-grade turmeric, ginger, cinnamon + vanilla that's completely sugar-free. Traditionally, turmeric is used in Ayurvedic practices and holistic medicine to support digestion and wellbeing.
Bee Pollen: Bee pollen is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fatty acids, making it a wonderful addition to support the immune system and nervous system health.
COMBINE papaya, yoghurt, 1 tablespoon of bee pollen, Turmeric Latte, Healthy Chef Protein and ice into a blender.
BLEND until smooth and creamy, adding a little water or coconut water for consistency.
DIVIDE into 2 serving bowls or glasses and top with bee pollen.
STIR THROUGH bee pollen before devouring.
